Automatic sampler for falling bulk material
Different samplers can be used for the automatic, representative sampling of bulk material on conveyor belts. If the spatial conditions on site allow sampling on the conveyor belt, it is recommended to install a linear sampler.
The linear sampler essentially consists of a conical sampling vessel, which is aligned perpendicularly to the incoming flow of conveyed material with its defined slot. The sampler passes through the entire material flow at a consistent speed, thus allowing representative sampling.
The linear sampler starts from the waiting position with the bottom flap open and passes through the bulk material. When the reverse position is reached, the bottom flap closes. With the closed bottom flap, the linear sampler again passes at a consistent speed through the conveyed material and thereby takes a representative sample.
When the starting position is reached, the bottom flap is opened and the slotted container is emptied into a funnel that is moved laterally by the belt conveyor. Depending on your requirements, the hopper can be connected to a downpipe, a sample collection container or further processing steps for sample preparation.
