Sample preparation

As part of the post-sampling preparation, the sample taken shall be brought to the condition necessary for laboratory analysis. For this purpose, the sample may be crushed and divided if necessary. The standard components used for crushing, such as hammer and roller mills, are available on request from us.

In the following, however, we would like to explicitly introduce the dividers that have proven themselves in the past, which provide a representative reduction in the quantity of the discarded material and thus reduce the previously collected primary sample to a quantity that is suitable for laboratory analysis. Relevant sampling standards provide specific performance specifications according to which the sample division is to be interpreted and carried out.

  • Pendulum slide divider

The pendulum slide divider is recommended for representative volume reduction in the belt transfer and the creation of several, simultaneous samples.

  • Dish divider

The disc divider is recommended for representative reduction of abrasive materials or materials with a moisture content of up to 15%.

  • Rotational divider

The rotary divider is recommended for representative volume distribution of wet and sticky bulk materials.
